Engineering

Senior Structural Engineer

Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to structural engineering design.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct construction document reviews as required.

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate structural engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects.

  • Prepare and review of calculations, drawings, and specifications relating to seismic and wind analyses, foundation design, structural framing analyses and design, and bracing analyses and design. 

  • Perform structural design and analysis for bridges, structural steel buildings, reinforced concrete buildings and structures, pipe supports, and foundation systems. 

  • Create and supervise the preparation of civil, structural, and architectural drawings, specifications, and work packages. 

  • Determine root cause and recommend corrective action of structural systems. 

  • Review and approve shop drawings. 

  • Ensure construction is in accordance with plans, specifications, and good construction practices. 

  • Develop scopes of work and engineering cost estimates for design and construction projects. 

  • Familiarity with applications such as Autodesk Revit, RISA-3D, and AutoCAD is required.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects.

  • Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain through alternate state reciprocity, required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Candidates should expect some travel, dependent upon candidate’s location.  

​

​Clearance Requirements:

  • Preferred, but not required.

​

Work Hours:

  • A 40-hour work week is schedule.  Each workday has a 30-minute lunch break (unpaid).  Overtime may be required as necessary.
