Engineering

Senior Electrical Engineer

Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to electrical engineering design.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct construction document reviews as required.

  • Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain through alternate state reciprocity, required.

  • Perform electrical high voltage design, including substation, transmission, and distribution design up to 138-kV (for medium/high voltage scope of work only)

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate electrical engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects, including equipment manufacturers. 

  • Prepare and modify electrical design drawings (e.g., single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagram layouts, raceway, lighting, and grounding). 

  • Interpret and apply National, State, and Local codes and standards, and customer design requirements for the preparation of electrical design/construction documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to assigned tasks through project startup.

  • Prepare engineering cost and schedule estimates. 

  • Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications. 

  • Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications, such as MicroStation or AutoCAD Electrical, is required.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical (Power) Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects.

Travel Requirements:

  • Candidates should expect some travel, dependent upon candidate’s location.  

​

​Clearance Requirements:

  • Not required.

​

Work Hours:

  • A 40-hour work week is schedule.  Each workday has a 30-minute lunch break (unpaid).  Overtime may be required as necessary.
