Specification Writer

Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to engineering design.

 

Responsibilities:

• Understand technical terminology related to engineering and construction.

• Compile and logically organize information to be included in documents such as calculations, specifications, formal reports etc.

• Effective oral, analytical, written, and communication skills.  Assist with the writing/revision of all types of documents, to include specifications, engineering work plans and other engineering documents.

•  

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, or other field related to the position or equivalent training and experience plus a minimum of 8 years of related professional experience in an engineering, construction or operation and maintenance environment.

Travel Requirements:

• Candidates should expect some travel, dependent upon candidate’s location. 

​

​Clearance Requirements:

• Preferred, but not required.

​

Work Hours:

• A 40-hour work week is schedule.  Each workday has a 30-minute lunch break (unpaid).  Overtime may be required as necessary.
