Process Engineer

Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to chemical engineering design.

 

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of documents such as process simulations, material balances, change requests, design analyses and calculations (DAC), and other deliverables that are associated with supporting operations and maintaining configuration management.

• Develop new and redline existing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and Interlock Narratives. 

• Lead and support Process Hazard Analyses for new and existing processes.

• Develop Process Flow Diagrams and Heat and Material Balances.

• Lead various calculations for process design (i.e. relief, pump sizing, and heat transfer). 

• Write, maintain, and update necessary procedures and assist with training operators when needed.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects.

Travel Requirements:

• Candidates should expect some travel, dependent upon candidate’s location.

​Clearance Requirements:

• Preferred, but not required.

​

Work Hours:

• A 40-hour work week is schedule.  Each workday has a 30-minute lunch break (unpaid).  Overtime may be required as necessary.
