Engineering

Mechanical Engineer

Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects through project startup. 

  • Perform mechanical engineering analyses for steam, hydraulic, piping, HVAC, and process cooling and heating systems.

  • Perform machine design and layout.

  • Select fabrication materials and methods, write specifications, supervise and prepare mechanical drawings.

  • Develop engineering man-hour estimates and scopes of work for capital projects. 

  • Familiarity with applications such as MicroStation, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor, SolidWorks, or CAESAR II, is required.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects. 

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Candidates should expect some travel, dependent upon candidate’s location.

​Clearance Requirements:

  • Preferred, but not required.

​

Work Hours:

  • A 40-hour work week is schedule.  Each workday has a 30-minute lunch break (unpaid).  Overtime may be required as necessary.
