Engineering

Communications Engineer

Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to communications engineering design.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate electrical engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects through project startup. 

  • Execute tasks associated with the preparation, modification, and review of all types of communication system design/construction drawings, including microwave, telephone data, system control and data acquisition (SCADA), mobile radio, fire alarm, microwave radio, security and video. 

  • Properly interpret and apply National, State, and Local codes and standards, and customer design requirements for the preparation of electrical design/construction documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to assigned tasks. 

  • Prepare studies, analyses, and reports as required. Prepare engineering cost and schedules estimates.  Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications. 

  • Familiarity with MicroStation computer aided drafting applications is required.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 or more years’ experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects required.

Duration:

  • One (1) year from the date of award with the option to extend for one (1) year period.

​

Travel Requirements:

  • Candidates should expect up to 100% travel, dependent upon candidate’s location.  This position fulfills a staff augmentation contract at the client's site.

​

​Clearance Requirements:

  • Preferred, but not required.

​

Work Hours:

  • A 40-hour work week is schedule.  Each workday has a 30-minute lunch break (unpaid).  Overtime may be required as necessary.
