Drafters / Designers / Technicians

Fire Protection Designer

Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to fire protection (FP) engineering design.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD), MicroStation computer aided drafting applications preferred but AutoCAD accepted, to originate and produce drawings with minimum supervision.

  • Experience with the Hydraulic Analyzer of Sprinkler Systems (HASS) is highly desirable.

  • Interpret and apply codes and standards and customer design requirements in the preparation of fire protection design documents. 

  • Prepare or modify design drawings for fire protection systems including hydraulic calculated systems and pipe schedule systems. 

 

Education and Experience:

  • NICET II certification and a minimum of 8 years’ experience. 

  • Water based fire protection systems design and drafting experience.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Candidates should expect some travel, dependent upon candidate’s location.

​Clearance Requirements:

  • Preferred, but not required.

​

Work Hours:

  • A 40-hour work week is schedule.  Each workday has a 30-minute lunch break (unpaid).  Overtime may be required as necessary.
